Skilled Workforce

Jackson and Jackson has the capability of providing a skilled workforce for large or small projects with limited notice. Our schedules are developed and based on our clients mill outage criteria. J&J proposals are based on a fixed cost basis by scope of work or by amount of men and time. The amount of men and time proposals allow for changes to be made during the job without affecting the cost unless the number of men or the duration is modified at the clients’ request.

The types of equipment we are most frequently called upon by clients to work on are:

•  dryer replacements
•  agitator replacements
•  head replacements
•  repulper replacements
•  dryer bearings
•  dryer gear replacements
•  motor changes
•  felt rolls
•  laser alignment of components
•  felt stretch replacements
•  press section rebuilds•  pump replacements
•  head box repairs
•  steam joint replacements and rebuilds
•  former repairs
•  vacuum pump replacements
•  blower replacements
•  press roll replacements
•  fan rebuilds and replacements
•  pin and bushing replacements (size press, calendar and  press section)

Project Planning

Jackson and Jackson has developed a system for project planning and execution that is defined by, but not limited to:

  • Detailed planning by more than one highly experienced person (combining experience in the planning stages)
  • Placing the right person on the right task or in the right position (understanding their employee’s strength and weaknesses)
  • Providing extra support as a manpower buffer (contends with job scope inconsistencies during an outage)
  • Detailed prep work (reduces outage inconsistencies by increasing onsite communications)
  • Project folder information with written procedures, photographs, and diagrams (clarifies job expectations in detail to the front line)
  • Good communication exchange at each level of engagement (minimizes communication gaps
